Food and drink
A compendium of recipes I've saved. I've even tried some of them.
My staples
These are the ones I've made multiple times and brought into the regular rotation. All tested and approved by myself and other humans.
- https://www.budgetbytes.com/cold-peanut-noodle-salad/ I make this every summer. Great for work lunches, potlucks and more. Halve the recipe to keep the quantities manageable.
- A black-eyed pea curry from Serious Eats. Wayback Machine link because the original is gone. Taught me that I can't really add too many spices to my curries.
- https://www.196flavors.com/garbanzos-con-espinacas/ Loosely followed many times. Can't go wrong with chickpeas and spinach.
- https://www.seriouseats.com/30-minute-pressure-cooker-pho-ga-recipe Okay, I've only made this once. And not in a pressure cooker. But it's the best chicken noodle soup I could ask for, so my +1 has been informed that if I get sick, this is what he needs to make.
All my favourite recipe websites for inspiration
- https://smittenkitchen.com/, of course
- https://twistedfood.co.uk/ for original, unreasonably delicious stuff (including a decent number of veg options)
- https://owiowifouettemoi.com/, ze one and only, and her cookbooks
Drinks
Of course there's a smittenkitchen category for this
Soft drinks
- Very intriguing preserved lemon drink that I intend to make as soon as it's hot enough: https://vickypham.com/blog/chanh-muoui/
Cocktails
- Just looks too fun not to include here, and the website is full of things that look tasty: https://www.creamyconfusion.com.au/blueberry-tarragon-sour
